Happy on the Outside

It's been a crazy week! I have been running around the city in between work, blogging, keeping up with friends, and (trying) to take care of myself. I feel like I am always focusing on checking things off my to-do lists and be super productive, but it seems like every time I turn around, I still have way more left to do than what I've already done! I sure don't like feeling unproductive. Can anyone else relate here?

Honestly, I've been feeling pretty overworked and in need of a break. I can't complain though - I've been given some pretty cool opportunities lately, and I am super thankful for my full-time job. I also love seeing friends, but I feel really bad having to cancel or reschedule because I physically can't get there in time. There just isn't enough time in a day!

I feel like I am always trying to stay positive, be happy, and not let anxiety get the best of me. I don't have time to be anxious. The truth is though, I have dealt with anxiety for most of my life, and I don't always handle stress very well. I don't take care of myself. I don't go to bed at a very decent hour. And I may look happy and all dressed up on the outside, but inside, I am very tired and feeling pretty burnt out!

I think that it's important to create your own happiness, though. I think that even through all of the busy days and worrying about getting everything done - I can't keep putting this much pressure on myself. I need to slow down, take time for myself, and focus on what makes me happy. I love creating content for the blog, waking up every morning to my cat, and spending time with friends. Sometimes I need to remind myself to balance things out a bit.

For today's look, I am wearing this gorgeous floral maxi dress from Zaful, and my summery straw hat. I love how this dress is off-the-shoulder details and has a slit that makes this piece super flowy and comfortable.
