NEON Stores Visit

| On
Friday, December 09, 2016

It's almost the holidays and Christmas shopping is underway! It's a busy time of the year and I know I shouldn't technically be shopping for myself right now, but NEON Stores invited me to stop by for a little shopping spree and a tour of their brand new store on Queen St in Toronto!

NEON has been around for over 30 years in Canada, and has a very eclectic vibe - with something for everyone! The store's atmosphere and wide range of products combines the streets of Los Angeles, New York, Europe and Asia. They offer brands such as Levi's, Vans, Jansport, Converse, Dr. Martens, Adidas, Element, OBEY Clothing and Fjallraven and offer some of the widest selections from these brands in one location.

This store is all about versatility and just about everything is for sale. From chairs to door knobs, and clothing to footwear - NEON has it all! When I visited NEON, I was on the hunt for something pink and girly (obviously) and I found so many super cute items! The first look I put together is photographed below! Keep reading for all outfit details.

I am in love with this peachy pink blouse that I picked up at NEON, along with a dark-wash pair of Levi's denim as well. I paired this look with some black ankle booties, a shimmery pink lipstick, and some simple rhinestone stud earrings.

6 Ways to Get Super Organized

| On
Tuesday, December 06, 2016

It's always good to be organized and I love to plan everything! Especially this time of the year when everything gets crazy busy and very stressful for so many people. As a student with a part time job, blog, YouTube channel, and friends/family to see - things can get a little hectic. Planning ahead and staying as organized as possible is something that helps my mind settle so that I can get some sleep at night!

Today I'm going to share a few ways you can get yourself more organized. I use all of these methods almost daily!

1. Clothes Organizer

Every week I plan out what outfits to wear according to my schedule (and the weather, of course). I section them all into cubbies and plan out what accessories to wear, as well as a matching lipstick shade and hairstyle. It has come in so handy because if you have a super busy schedule, its one less thing to worry about when getting ready in the morning!

2. Have an Agenda

I love having my bando agenda to write down when I have shift at work and when certain assignments are due for school.  I don't always use it, as I prefer to put tasks in my phone, but when I have it with me it's the perfect thing to use!

3. Make sticky notes and reminders

I leave myself sticky notes around the apartment or on certain things that I am guaranteed to notice so that I don;t forget. I have a lot on my mind between school, work blogging, and now YouTube - so I love having these to keep myself on track.

4. Put it in your phone

I use my phone the most when it comes to planning ad organization. I use a widget called "Mini To-Do" that I am able to sort out tasks for each day of the week/month and check them off as I go. I love how they can be easily moved around as well.

5. Do prep the night before / plan ahead

I am a worrier! As someone who worries about everything all the time, it's best if I have a plan written down so I can slot out my time realistically. I am obsessed with managing my time as effectively as possible and being productive. I will sometimes write down what I need to get done by a certain time in the day (by the hour, usually) so that I can get everything I need done.

I also always feel better knowing that my school meals are packed the night before, my outfits are set out, and any homework I have is printed and in the correct binder ahead of time.

I usually plan my time 1-2 weeks ahead and a typical week for me is school 4 days a week, work 2-3 days a week, homework everyday, paint my nails and plan my outfits and meals once each week, and blog/YouTube tasks 2-3 times a week as well. I try to make time for friends, but sometimes it doesn't happen all the time!

6. Meal Prep

I usually plan out all of my meals, do grocery shopping, and make all of the food on Sunday's and have enough to last me Monday - Thursday for school. This way I am able to make full, healthy meals for myself and ensure that I have something ready to go with me each day to class. If you want to know more about meal prep and how I do it, see this blog post and video here.

I hope you found these tips helpful! I know they have come in very handy for me.

When December Comes...

Thursday, December 01, 2016

Does anyone else get super excited when December comes? I feel like I'm finally allowed to listen to all of my favourite Christmas music and get into the holiday spirit! I woke up extra early this morning so that I could decorate my apartment first thing! I put up pink lights, my white tree, and some other sparkly decor items.

I painted this snowflake nail art design the other night that is super fitting for winter and the month of December. If you like it, pin it to one of your boards on Pinterest! You can follow me here for more nail design inspo.

BITE Beauty Matte Lip Creme

| On
Saturday, November 26, 2016

I was SO excited to find out I would be receiving the BITE Beauty box from Influenster this past month. Inside, there were three shades of matte lip creme. I fell in love with them, of course - but here's some more information in case you were wondering about the brand!

Their Facebook page explains what they do, perfectly -- BITE Beauty proves you don’t have to sacrifice performance for a product made from nature. BITE contains the age-defying antioxidant Resveratrol and organic shea and fruit butters for a moisture-rich feel. All of the colourants that make BITE so richly pigmented are food grade approved.

BITE products are available exclusively at Sephora USA and Canada and via the website.

In the specific package that I got, there were three shades in matte lipstick.

Cava - A light nude shade that is sure to go with just about any look
Red Velvet - A bright cherry red, perfect for the holidays
Glacé - A deeper dusty rose, almost brown shade that would be perfect to throw on for a night out

My favourite one was Cava! Here are some photos of me wearing it:

My overall rating is stated below...

Packaging: 5/5
Ingredients/Formula: 5/5
Long-lasting: 4.5/5
